In the minutes, the following section refers to the PAIC project: “The Board approved SFU and Collegiate Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (CIS) entering into a Letter of Intent whereby SFU will provide a 65 year ground lease to CIS in exchange for a recreation and athletics facility.” CIS, the facilitiy development partner for the PAIC project, is expected to buid an athletic facility in exchange for the land-lease on which the PAIC institute would be built. The land location is adjacent to the main academic campus of SFU and adjacent to UniverCity, the new residential and commercial district on Burnaby Mountain.
